Bill has over 39 years of experience in the real estate business, the last 21 years as the owner/broker of POTEET PROPERTIES, INC. He began his career in 1978 as a Realtor Associate with ID & Associates on Marco Island, Florida. There he listed and sold residential properties. Over the years he continued to gain experience in both residential and commercial real estate.
Today Bill is the Owner/Broker for POTEET PROPERTIES, INC., a full service real estate business offering residential, commercial, property management, and development management services. Bill even holds a Community Association Management (CAM) license which allows him to provide Condominium management. His focus is primarily on commercial real estate and property management.
In 2006 his company was retained to be the project development manager for 555 on Fifth, a mixed use building in the heart of downtown Naples and winner of the 2009 Sand Dollar Award. He earned the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation, Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), and At Home with Diversity (AHWD) certification from the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). He has earned the Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers® (ICSC). In 2014 Bill received NAR’s Commercial Achievement Award and in 2016 he was recognized by the Florida Realtors with Florida Commercial Achievement Award. Bill has been listed in Outstanding Young Men of America and Who’s Who in Business and Professionals. He is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Collier.

Bill is a very active member of Naples Area Board of REALTORS® serving as President in 2012. This year he chairs the Realtor Political Action Committee. He is the recipient of the 2013 Realtor of the Year Award, 2006 Ad Miller Award, 2008 and 2010 Nabor’s Citizen of the Year, 2009 Nabor Humanitarian Award, Nabors Commercial Realtor Achievement Award, and 2010 Committee Member Spotlight Award. He is has been a recipient of the NABOR Honor Society for the past nine years.
Bill serves Florida Realtors® as the District 5 RPAC Trustee, Vice Chair of Commercial Alliance Committee, and Chair of the Realtor Party Townhall. He also sits on a number of other state committees including the Public Policy Committee. He is a Key Contact for State Representative Matt Hudson. He has been a Florida Realtors Director since 2007 and a recipient of the Florida Honor Society every year since 2008. This past August Bill was recognized with Florida Realtors Commercial Realtor Achievement Award.
He serves as a member of the NAR Commercial Legislative and Regulatory Subcommittee and the Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Subcommittee. He was a NAR Director in 2012.

Bill was recognized in 2007 as the “Golden Gate Citizen of the Year” by The Collier Citizen newspaper. The Marco Island Jaycees honored him with a “JCI Senatorship”. The Southwest Florida Council of the Boy Scouts recognized him with the “Silver Beaver” and the “District Award of Merit”.
Bill is the father of three children, Kristen, Christopher, and Jonathan, and a proud Grandfather of Madeleine Grace and Isabella. He is married to Cheryl Poteet, also licensed real estate professional (Realtor®) with POTEET PROPERTIES, INC. Bill truly believes the last tenant in the Jaycee Creed that “Service to Humanity is the best work of Life” as he has dedicated his life to the betterment of others.
